Shumi answers questions about crypto markets with live data behind every answer: trend state, funding, sentiment, narrative momentum, regime, and relative value, across a broad spot universe and seven perpetual-futures venues. See Coverage for what is tracked and how fresh it is. It is built as an API first. Shumi Web, Shumi CLI, the MCP server, and Shumi Telegram are all clients of the same typed surface, which means anything you can see in the product you can also pull programmatically, and the answer does not change depending on where you asked. Shumi does not execute trades. There is no order path, no exchange keys, no custody. Outcomes are tracked against historical prices, never executed. These pages carry no performance figures. The studies carry them, each with its sample size, its window, and its failures attached, which is the only form in which a number stays honest as the ledger moves.

Quickstart

First answer in about two minutes, from the CLI, the API, or an agent.

API Overview

Auth, the response envelope, error codes, freshness guarantees.

MCP Server

Thirty-one read-only tools for Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client.

Evidence

Five published studies, methodology included, failures included.

What it does

Research. Chat over live market data, a screener for finding candidates by filter rather than by ticker, single-coin analysis including contract-address resolution, sentiment divergence where the crowd disagrees with price, narrative slopes for themes building or fading, and market health for breadth. Trade decisions. Signals and trend streaks, regime as a directional filter, pair trading for hedge construction, delta-neutral funding spreads across venues, funding momentum for perp crowding, and oscillators for exhaustion context. None of these are trade instructions. They are inputs, and the docs for each one say what it cannot tell you. Evidence. Studies, backtests, and benchmarks, including a benchmark Shumi deliberately excluded itself from.

Where Shumi runs

Seven surfaces, defined in Surfaces and governed by the Glossary. Every one of them is a client of the same typed API, which is why the answer does not change with the door you came through. The short version: MCP is a transport for Shumi API rather than a surface of its own, see MCP Server.

Two domains

shumi.ai is the product. coinrotator.app is the earlier one, still live, still serving the public screeners the data layer grew out of. Shumi is not a feature of CoinRotator; the dependency runs the other way, and both sit on the same market data. If you are new, start on shumi.ai. If you arrived via a CoinRotator screener and want to know how the two relate, CoinRotator explains it.

Access
